Really good tire, only downside IMO is the tread life. If your driving style is somewhat aggressive, tire treads will melt quickly. Otherwise awesome tire.
Awesome tire great price would buy them again
I've had these tires on my cars (Both RWD) for better than two yrs (JAG & CADI ATS 3.6). Regularly push JAG on twisted roads 85-100 MPH/dry and these tires are the shiot. No brakes needed down hill on serous curves, these tires are pit bulls. I noticed that 9/10 people hit the brakes on such roads and it's kinda cool that I don't have to. The ride comfort and noise level is as good as AS Continentals I had - Good. In heavy rain (rare) in AZ, I slow to 70-75 MPH and don't feel uneasy. Light rain may as well be dry they are that good. Both cars handle really well anyway and the tires didn't detract from that. They look good and have worn really well. I've driven many times at below 35 degrees, I just took a tad more care and had no problems. The tires have been from coast to coast 3 times. Just put 8K on them over last 2.5 months on the aforementioned twisted roads and they are still good. Pricing a new set that I'll throw in the garage until it's time to change them out. Oh, the CADI came with Run Flats that totally sucked. The road noise and vibration of the light weight body didn't allow the phone function properly - these tires solved that. Informed the dealer who had tried everything under the sun to correct the problem and they said "hot damn". I/We really like these Tires.
Have had these for 2 summers. They are just awful. No sidewall stability. I feel like I am driving on balloons. My *winter* tires, on dry pavement, have better performance characteristics than these. I hate these so much that I am willing to dump them and just take the loss.
I’m posting this in defense of the Fire hawk Indy 500, because I think the other reviews are for the wrong tire. These tires weren’t even available in 2013, so one review is bad for sure. I’m using these on a SoCal driven Mazda Miata that is supercharged and tracked. It’s handling and ability to handle abuse are amazing for the price point. Compared to my previous Falken Ziex, in driving Streets of Willow in 115* heat for 20 minute stints, they never got greasy, and remained consistent. As a Performance Summer Tire, I was really happy with wet traction, mind you, it’s California, but it has been wetter recently, and even on such a light/low car, It handled itself well for freeway driving. I would say this tire needs a little driving to get warmed up and sticky. Short stints leave you with a fairly noisy tire in the mornings, and they can get a bit louder as they age. Overall however, I’m really happy with the performance of these tires at their budget-friendly price point.
Horrible in snow!! I had read other reviews and thought I was getting a good tire. It's so-so in rain but in snow it is the worst tire I have ever had on my car. Bald tires get more traction than these.
Excellent tires. I ran anywhere from 59,000 to 65,000 miles on these tires. I will buy them again if I can get them.
